Evangelical Church Adolfseck
The Evangelical Church is a listed church building in Adolfseck , a district of Bad Schwalbach in the Rheingau-Taunus district ( Hesse ). The building is the successor to a former castle chapel, which was built in the castle in 1456 by Count Johann von Nassau.
Architecture and equipment
The small hall was built around 1500 with a choir with a five-eighth closing, the builder was Engelbert von Nassau-Idstein, Canon of Mainz and provost of the Bartholomäusstift in Frankfurt. In 1506, Count Engelbert presented the priest Martin Sutorius as probably the first priest of the church. In 1512 the first bell with the inscription Got furlei and a blessed stunt Anno MCCCCCXII was hung, a second bell was added in 1554. The building was badly damaged during the Thirty Years' War and the bells were probably stolen as well. The bonnet ridge comes from the second half of the 18th century, and the building was renovated around 1785. The two small stained glass windows were installed at the beginning of the 16th century. They show a coat of arms, as well as a representation of Anna herself third. The tracery windows are decorated with fish bubbles. The Nassau coat of arms is affixed above the former priest's gate with staves. Originally the former castle chapel was dedicated to St. Consecrated to Valentin. In the church there is a baptismal font from the end of the 15th century, the dome of which is decorated with tracery. The stalls are from 1680, the pulpit is marked 1692 and the foot is decorated with carved fruits. The rural crucifix dates from the 18th century. The stone offering box is probably a work from the end of the 17th century. In 1826 the church tower had to be renewed, the site manager Rock von Laufenselden was in charge of construction. In 1875 the existing bells were replaced by two new ones. A new organ was built by Daniel Rassmann in 1893.
