The church in Armsfeld

The Protestant parish church is a listed church building in Armsfeld , a district of Bad Wildungen , in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district , in Hesse .

history

The half-timbered building over a high quarry stone base was erected in 1587. Along with the churches in Rüchenbach and Wagenfurth, it is the oldest preserved half-timbered church in Hesse.

Around 1650 a western half-timbered building with a recessed superstructure and a hood lantern was added. After renovations in 1953 and 1993, it turned out in 2001 that the church was in danger of collapsing. The organ and altar as well as the other equipment were outsourced. The repair is still ongoing.

Furnishing

The furnishings include a small wooden crucifix from 1625.

The organ was built in 1732 by the organ builder Daniel Mütze from Sachsenberg and was last restored in 2011 by the organ builder Dieter Noeske from Rotenburg an der Fulda . The instrument is the only baroque organ in the church district. The instrument has nine registers on a manual (C – c 3 : Gedackt 8 ′, Quintade 8 ′, Gedackt 4 ′, Principal 4 ′, Fifth 2 23 ′, Octave 2 ′, Third 1 35 ′, Octave 1 ′, Mixture III 23 ′). The actions are mechanical.
