Evangelical Church Berndshausen

The Evangelical Church Berndshausen is a listed church building in Berndshausen , a district of the Knüllwald community in the Schwalm-Eder district ( Hesse ). She belongs to the Ev. Parish of Beisheim-Berndshausen in the Fritzlar-Homberg parish of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck .

The hall building with a three-sided end was built in 1729. It is located in the middle of a well-preserved, Gothic fortified cemetery . The circular wall has been preserved in its entirety and its original height of up to six meters with loopholes and the approach of the battlement . At a later time, a small prison building was added to the north side of the defensive wall.

Extensive renovation work began in 1999 due to the risk of collapse.

In front of the churchyard there is a court square with a stone court table under two powerful court linden trees .
