Evangelical Church Rositz
The Evangelical Church Rositz is located in the municipality of Rositz in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia .
history
A church with a pastor was first mentioned in Rositz in 1295 . In 1516 the established church , the church again after extended point of view. The church tower remained incomplete and was initially given a shingle roof . The building of the tower then ended with the baroque tower dome in 1571. In 1566 the baptismal register was put on. The font dates back to 1582.
In 1877 the church was extensively restored. In 1716 the parish decided to buy a larger organ because the old organ could no longer be used. The larger organ needed more space. Accordingly, it had to be expanded and a double gallery built in. In addition, a staircase was added to get to the galleries . The tower hood was also replaced. The tower was given a pointed roof .
The ringing consists of three bells . It was exchanged several times. Until the restoration in 1877, the oldest bell was from 1390. These bells were also picked up for war purposes. In 1954 , two bells were transferred from the town of Leesen , which had to give way to lignite mining.
