The Evangelical Association for Adoption and Foster Child Aid (EVAP) is a registered association for the placement of adopted and foster children in accordance with Section 2 of the  Adoption Placement Act . EVAP is a member of EurAdopt , a network of various European organizations related to adoption.

tasks

The original tasks of the Protestant youth welfare consisted of looking after neglected children. With the change in adoption, the association's tasks have also developed from the placement of war orphans to the placement of adoptions abroad and foundlings.

International adoption

EVAP is an agency for international adoptions from Kenya and South Africa recognized by the Federal Central Agency for Foreign Adoption at the Federal Office of Justice (July 2017).

The association examines the general suitability of the possible adoptive parents for an adoption and accompanies them in the subsequent process. In particular, the association maintains branches in the respective countries of origin of the adopted children in order to support the adoptive parents on site in the adoption process.

In the period from 1991 to 2014, EVAP, as an agency for Ethiopia, placed more than 500 children in Germany. Due to changed framework conditions in Ethiopia, the association is no longer able to carry out adoption placements from Ethiopia.
