The Evangelical Adult Education Center Westphalia and Lippe e. V. (EBW) is a church institution for continuing education with the headquarters in Dortmund . history

The Evangelical Adult Education Center Westphalia and Lippe eV was founded in 1975. In the Westphalian regional church there had been several impulses for a revitalized adult education work in the post-war period: in 1949 the establishment of the social welfare office in Haus Villigst and in 1950 the Ev. Academy Rhineland - Westphalia in Hemer. The Haus Villigst conference center, the men's groups, academics meetings and the Evangelical Academy in Hemer - from 1956 in Iserlohn - became the forerunners of the EBW, which was founded as the Evangelical Adult Education Center Westphalia in 1962 and acted as the Evangelical Adult Education Network in the 1960s. On the way to the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017, the Ev. Church in Germany proclaimed the "Reformation Decade". Each year has its own motto (e.g. 2013: "Reformation and Tolerance ", 2014: "Reformation and Politics "). Since September 1st, 2012 the project office Reformationsdekade of the Ev. Church of Westphalia settled.
