Evangelical parish center

The Protestant parish center ( Italian Centro evangelico ) is an Evangelical - Reformed Church building modern style in Grono in Grisons Misox . The church center, which significantly shapes the village image in the residential area, combines the church, meeting center and - adjacent - the rectory.

History and equipment

The reformed preaching site , built in 1996 by the architect Hans-Jörg Ruch , is the only one in the whole of the Misox and Calanca Valley in the middle of the diaspora . It forms the center of the youngest parish of the Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden within the Colloquium II Schams-Avers-Rheinwald-Moesa . What is striking about the concrete building with its free-standing bell tower is the inner floor plan in the form of a square, each seven meters in length, width and height with an additional central bell.

Varia

The church center hit the headlines across Switzerland in 2008/09 when the local pastor and pastor of the Mesolcina / Calanca parish under Dean Thomas Gottschall was excluded from the Graubünden synod by a majority decision of the other pastors , who is responsible for the supervision of the pastors' administration . That was the most difficult disciplinary measure the Synod could take. For several years, the pastor had been accused of “unethical” behavior, “unprofessional administration” and untrustworthy behavior. The expulsion contested by the pastor concerned was confirmed by several court instances. In 2006 the community of Grono hosted the Graubünden Synod, at which Thomas Gottschall was elected as the new dean and successor to Luzi Battaglia .
