Eve Beglarian
Eve Beglarian (born July 22, 1958 in Ann Arbor ) is an American composer, performance artist and audio producer.
The daughter of the composer Grant Beglarian studied at Princeton University and Columbia University . She received composition commissions for chamber music, choral and orchestral works a. a. by The Los Angeles Master Chorale , the American Composers Orchestra , the Bang on a Can All-Stars , the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the California EAR Unit , the Orchestra of St. Luke's , the Paul Dresher Ensemble, and by musicians like Maya Beiser , Lauren Flanigan , Sarah Cahill and Marya Martin .
In the field of music theater she worked with Lee Breuer ( Mabou Mines ' Dollhouse , Animal Magnetism , Ecco Porco and Choephorai ), Grethe Barret Holby (Hildegurls' Ordo Virtutum), Kathleen Supové and Chen Shi-Zheng . With the latter she realized Forgiveness (with the no-master Akira Matsui ) and the performance of The Bacchae at the Chinese National Opera in Beijing .
In the field of dance theater her partners were Victoria Marks , Ann Carlson , Susan Marshall and David Neumann , in the field of visual and video art Shirin Neshat , Cory Arcangel , Kevork Mourad , Vittoria Chierici , Barbara Hammer and Judson Wright . Furthermore she works u. a. an opera based on Stephen King's The Man in the Black Suit (with Grethe Barret Holby), a song cycle CD with Phil Kline and the A Book of Days , a project with 365 audiovisual pieces for live performance and the Internet.
