Reinhard Wieczorek

Reinhard Wieczorek (born November 1, 1945 in Berchtesgaden ) is a German lawyer and local politician . After working as a judge at the Bavarian State Social Court and the Bavarian Constitutional Court , he was head of the labor and economic department of the state capital Munich .

Career

After graduating from the Theresien-Gymnasium in Munich and studying law with a doctorate at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with a thesis on patent law , Wieczorek worked as a judge at the Munich Labor Court and from 1985 at the Bavarian State Social Court . From 1990 to 2003 he was also a judge at the Bavarian Constitutional Court . Wieczorek was the first speaker for work and economics in a newly created office for the state capital of Munich. He held this office from 1991 until he was replaced by Dieter Reiter in 2009 .

Importance as a local politician

Wieczorek is a member of the SPD . During his tenure as economic advisor, important restructuring of Munich's economy took place, such as the relocation of the trade fair operations from Theresienhöhe and the opening of the New Munich Trade Fair Center in Riem or the opening of the second terminal at Munich Airport . Wieczorek has opposed the privatization of the city's businesses, as is being promoted elsewhere, such as city ​​hospitals .
