Evelina Louise Samuelsson (born March 14, 1984 in Märsta ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player .
Career
Evelina Samuelsson began her career at Aralanda in her hometown, where she played exclusively with male peers and was even made captain . She later played for AIK Solna .
She made her national team debut at the age of 15 and completed her first World Cup at the age of 16 . At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , she won the bronze medal, scoring both goals for Sweden in the third-place match and thus going down in ice hockey history. Further international assignments followed at the World Championships in 2001 and 2005 ; in the latter, she won another bronze medal.
In 2005 she ended her career due to groin problems. In total, she completed 72 international matches for Sweden, in which she scored 16 goals.
