Evelinde Trenkner

Evelinde Trenkner (married Trenkner-Boie ; born March 14, 1933 in Weimar ) is a German pianist and piano teacher.

Life

Trenkner is the daughter of the composer and conductor Werner Trenkner (1902–1981) and his wife, a singing teacher . Her talent was recognized and promoted at the age of six. At the age of eight, she was already able to perform Mozart's Piano Concerto in C major, accompanied by the Weimar Staatskapelle under Hermann Abendroth . She received lessons from Walter Gieseking and completed her studies with Wilhelm Kempff . Concert tours have taken her to all continents . In particular, she made a name for herself as an interpreter of the works of Gustav Mahler .

As a professor for piano, she taught at the Lübeck University of Music . In 1988, together with her husband Hermann Boie, former director of the Segeberg District Court, she founded the Xaver and Philipp Scharwenka Society , which collects documents on the work and life of the brothers Xaver and Philipp Scharwenka . In 1990 she and her husband initiated the International Chamber Music Festival in Lübeck, of which she is the artistic director.
