Everwin I. vondeckebrock

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Everwin I. vondeckebrock (* before 1326 , † 1351 ) was a knight , Droste of the cathedral chapter of Münster and landowner.

Life

Origin and family

Everwin I. vondeckebrock belonged to the 6th known generation of his family - later called Droste zu Hülshoff - and was the youngest son of Johann III. voneckenbrock and his wife Christina von Travelmann. As the first family member of many, he wore this first name, which reminds of the family's origins from Everswinkel . He died of the plague in 1351, shortly after his father . His older brother Wessel survived the plague and in 1352 became dean of the St. Mauritz monastery (Münster) and, at the latest, in 1376 an episcopal official (the first of three from his family). Brother Heinrich also survived the plague and became the first canon of his family at the St. Martini monastery (Münster) . His sister Adelheid married the knight Ludwig von Münster .

He married Hadewich von Schonebeck, from an extinct noble family that was also the owner of Hülshoff Castle . Although Everwin probably died relatively young, they had ten children, including the sons Alhard I. vondeckebrock (his successor), Johann and Engelbert and the daughters Christina, Ermengard, Beatrix, Adelheid and Margaretha.

Estates

Everwin was the youngest son, but because his eldest brother had died early and had become the second clergyman , he had inherited the goods at Everswinkel , including Grossedeckebrock . He was also the owner of the - called Telgenland - goods near Altenberge and in 1350 sold the large and small Markenbeck farms in Roxel . This shows that Everwin had already acquired property near Hülshoff Castle , which belonged to his wife's family in 1406 at the latest.

Droste of the cathedral chapter of Münster

The drosten office of the cathedral chapter of Münster was also passed on from his father to Everwin, who was only able to exercise it for two years because he died two years after his father - probably swept away by the plague that raged at the time .
