Evi Strehl

Evi Strehl (born May 22, 1958 ) is a home nurse from the Amberg-Sulzbach district and holder of the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .

Professional background

From the beginning of the 1990s until 2003, Strehl presented numerous programs as a freelancer on Bayern 1 . Since 2003, Strehl has been head of the folk music department at Bayerischer Rundfunk . With a team of five permanent and countless freelancers, Strehl was the contact person for all technical questions on the topic of folk music in the Munich Funkhaus. The moderation of radio broadcasts, live broadcasts and musicians' meetings were also part of her duties.

Strehl was responsible for program development for folk music for the BR digital program Bayern plus, which has existed since September 2008 . From 2009 Strehl moderated the folk music show Daheim - folk music from Bavaria and neighboring countries .

She has been active there since BR Heimat started broadcasting in February 2015.

Act

In 1992 Hans Wagner and the district council officially appointed her to be the district home nurse of the Amberg-Sulzbach district for folk music, customs, dialect, dance and traditional costumes. In this role she taught traditional songs and traditional dances to young people in particular in the 1990s. She held this honorary position until 2003.

Evi Strehl has founded several music and singing groups and promoted the tradition of the parish fair.

Awards

In 1995 Strehl received the honorary award of the Hanns Seidel Foundation at the “Tag der Volksmusik” in Banz Monastery . The foundation awards honorary prizes from the proceeds of the legacy of the donor couple Wutz for “special merits in youth work in folk music”.

In autumn 2006 she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon by Minister of Education Thomas Goppel . This was to honor Strehl's commitment to "contemporary homeland and customs".
