Ewald Belz

Ewald Belz (born February 8, 1902 in Erndtebrück ; † November 21, 1978 there ) was a German local politician and honorary district administrator ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school, Belz completed an apprenticeship as an electrician . He passed the master craftsman's examination in this profession and was the owner of an electrical shop from 1922 to 1978. He was married and had one child.

He was a member of the district council of the Wittgenstein district from 1946 until the regional reform on December 31, 1974. From October 26, 1948 to November 20, 1952, he was district administrator . In addition to his political functions, Belz was also the chief fire officer. He also pursued his hobby, poultry farming .

On August 4, 1967, Belz was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon and on October 8, 1977 the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class.
