Ewald Schulz (music director)

Ewald Schulz (born March 21, 1856 in Saalfeld , † April 7, 1942 in Bodenwerder ) was a German music director.

biography

Schulz was the son of a music teacher. He learned to play the violin at an early age. He was already concertmaster in Berlin at the end of the 1870s and visited various cities on concert tours, including Bremen . In 1880 he became head of the music corps of the 1st Hanseatic Infantry Regiment No. 75 , which was founded in 1866 and had its headquarters in Bremen Neustadt . Schulz, popular in Bremen, held folk and classical concerts in the parking garage in the Bürgerpark , in the Tonhalle , in the casino (Auf den Häfen 106) and in the Union ( Am Wall 102). In 1905 he was appointed Royal Music Director by Prussia .
