The Eternal Peace was between Poland-Lithuania and the Tsardom of Russia on 6. May 1686 in Moscow closed peace treaty . The Rzeczpospolita was by the Poznań voivode Krzysztof Grzymułtowski represented the Russian side by Knyaz Vasily Golitsyn .

The Eternal Peace ended the Russo-Polish War 1654–1667 under international law and confirmed the agreements made in the Andrussowo armistice . The treaty contained a preamble and 33 articles. He secured the territory in Andrussowo ceded by the Polish crown to the Russian side and established the Polish-Russian border until 1772.

Both sides pledged not to enter into a separate peace with the Ottoman Empire . By signing the treaty, Tsarist Russia joined an anti-Ottoman coalition , the Holy League . It opened a front in the east against the Ottoman vassals , the Crimean Tatars (cf. Russo-Turkish War 1686–1700 ).
