Eternal rain

The eternal rain are several seepage springs near Maria Rain in Carinthia ( Austria ). The geotope old moraine eternal rain has been designated as a natural monument by the state of Carinthia .

This is due to the escape of seepage resulting Rieselflur and Kalktuffbildungen on the southern slope of the Sattnitz -Rückens that in the Second Ice Age as medial incurred.

The Eternal Rain is located a few meters from the Drau that is dammed up to form the Ferlach reservoir . The village of Maria Rain is supplied with drinking water from these springs.
