Exhale is a Swedish deathgrind band. The group was founded in 2004 by Miseration bassist Johan Ylenstrand.
history
Johan Ylenstrand founded the band in summer 2004 together with drummer Gustav “Gurra” Elowson. After the duo had written the first pieces, they recorded the first demo ... the Inside with the sound engineer Ulf as singer and bassist Karl . Bassist Karl left the band and was replaced by Johan Fogelberg. In this line-up, Exhale recorded the first album Prototype , which was released in 2006 on Emetic Records. After singer Uffe was replaced by Peter and a second guitarist was added with Andreas Allenmark, the band went on tour through Europe and the USA in 2007 with performances at the Obscene Extreme and the Maryland Deathfest . Exhale finished their second album Blind in 2009 and was released in April 2010 on Dark Balance Records. Singer Peter left Exhale in October 2011 and was replaced by Martin Brzezinski. At the end of 2012 it was announced that Pulverized Records had signed the band, in autumn 2013 the third studio album When Worlds Collide was released .
style
Exhale counts the Swedish grindcore band Nasum to be their main influence. A characteristic of the band's music is that they combine grindcore with death metal and hardcore punk .
