Ronald Stoyan

Ronald Stoyan (* 1972 in Dresden ) is a German publicist specializing in astronomy .

Stoyan is the son of computer scientist Herbert Stoyan . He studied geography at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen . He completed his diploma with a geomorphological thesis, which was preceded by a six-month research stay in Ecuador .

From 1994 to 2015 he was the managing editor-in-chief of the magazine interstellarum and has been the publisher of the successor Adventure Astronomy since 2016 . He is also managing director of Oculum-Verlag , a publisher specializing in astronomical literature, and is himself the author of numerous books.

In his books, articles, lectures and television appearances, Stoyan tries to encourage people to observe astronomical phenomena.
