Exopolitics

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Exopolitics ( neologism from ancient Greek ἔξω exo 'outside' and politics ) is the name given to a school of thought that assumes the existence of extraterrestrial life on earth. The proponents of this theory advocate translating this fact into global politics. This is known as the exopolitics movement .

Contents of the exopolitics movement

The basic theses of exopolitics are:

  • There is an extraterrestrial presence on earth.
  • There is a lot of evidence for this.
  • The public is not sufficiently informed about the facts.
  • Officials in some states cover up information on the subject.

The main field of activity of the exopolitics movement is collecting, processing and making available information about the supposed extraterrestrial presence. State support is required for ufology , political engagement with the subject and the disclosure of all information from official bodies. The aim is a global paradigm shift towards a society that recognizes the propagated extraterrestrial presence and acts responsibly in the interests of all of humanity. Unlike traditional UFO groups, the focus is not on investigating or researching the UFO phenomenon, but on public relations and lobbying with the information already available. In addition, exopolitics also deals with people, political institutions and processes that influence the official and public announcement of the propagated extraterrestrial presence on earth.

history

Steven Greer, February 2007

The origin of the exopolitics movement lies in the US disclosure movement. Exopolitics takes up the ideas of the Disclosure movement and goes one step further: While the Disclosure movement aims at an official confirmation of the supposed extraterrestrial presence on earth, the Exopolitics movement largely assumes the presence as real. The resulting implications for humanity come into focus.

Michael Emin Salla

Two people are considered to be influential in the exopolitics movement in the early years: Steven Greer and Michael Salla . Greer is a MD and was an ambulance at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in North Carolina . Greer is known as the initiator of the US non-profit organization The Disclosure Project . On May 9, 2001, at a press conference at the National Press Club ( Washington, DC ), it confronted the general public with testimony from former government officials and the military. The main testimony of the witnesses was: extraterrestrial UFOs would exist and the US government was keeping its knowledge of them a secret. This press conference is a key event and the starting point of the exopolitics movement.

The initiator of the movement is the Australian doctor of political science Michael Salla. He first published the term "Exopolitics" in his article The Need for Exopolitics: Implications of Extraterrestrial Conspiracy Theories for Policy Makers & Global Peace (2003). Based on the disclosure movement, Salla examines the validity of the available information and sources and sees as a consequence the need for a policy change towards so-called exopolitics . In the book Exopolitics: Political Implications of the Extraterrestrial Presence (2004), published a year later , Salla elaborates on the subject and concretizes his theses.

In 2004 Salla founded the first Exopolitics website 'exopolitics.org', in 2005 the Exopolitics Institute and in 2006 the Exopolitics Journal . Building on this, offshoots arose in various countries around the world, which today form the global exopolitics network .

Exopolitics Network

The exopolitics movement is represented in over 20 national organizations and initiatives worldwide. Together they form a loose network which has global forums with the Exopolitics Institute and the Exopolitics World Network . The Exopolitics Institute sees itself as a research institute, while the Exopolitics World Network sees itself as a political lobby organization . There is no superordinate hierarchy or common organizational structure; each national initiative is autonomous and independent. Therefore, the respective interpretation of the exopolitics theses and orientation can vary from group to group.

Exopolitics in Germany

Logo of the "German Initiative for Exopolitics"

In Germany the exopolitics movement is represented by the "German Initiative for Exopolitics" . This sees itself as a citizens' movement and has no legal form. It was founded on June 1, 2007 by the qualified interpreter and freelance journalist Robert Fleischer. Fleischer heads the German organization to this day as the "coordinator".

The core interests of the “German Initiative for Exopolitics” are UFOs and the implications for politics and society that arise from an extraterrestrial presence. The movement also cooperates with traditional UFO groups in Germany such as MUFON-CES or DEGUFO . In contrast to these pure UFO research associations, Exopolitics Germany also repeatedly takes up esoteric and borderline scientific topics, such as so-called “free energy” , parapsychology or tape voices . The main medium of Exopolitics Germany is its own website with the independently produced Exo magazine, which is published online for a fee . In Germany there were regional groups of exopolitics in several federal states, including Berlin , Saxony , Lower Saxony , North Rhine-Westphalia , Hesse and Hamburg . The main task of the regional groups was to organize meetings, lectures or regional actions.

Media impact

The German Initiative for Exopolitics is represented several times in the media through interviews and statements. Reports on radio and television can be found in ARD , WDR , ARTE and Deutsche Welle . In the daily press in the Salzburger Nachrichten , Stuttgarter Nachrichten and Göttinger Tageblatt, among others . Most of the time, the views of Exopolitics Germany are presented as questionable, implausible or even “making you smile”.
