Black Holes and Revelations (dt. Black Holes and Revelations ) is the fourth studio album of the band Muse . It was released on July 2, 2006 via the band's own label. Like its predecessor Absolution , the album was produced by Rich Costey (including Franz Ferdinand ) and distributed by Warner Music . The artist Storm Thorgerson , who is known for his work for Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin , was hired for the artwork . The artwork shows four men sitting at a table in a Martian landscape .

The first single, Supermassive Black Hole , which was released two weeks before the album was released, reached number 4 on the UK charts.

The album topped the UK and number 9 on the US charts.
