Origin of Symmetry is the second studio album by the British rock band Muse . With the album released in 2001 Muse made the final breakthrough.

style

Compared to its predecessor Showbiz , the band was more willing to experiment. In addition, continued Bellamy often at his singing falsetto one.

United States

The album was released worldwide on June 18, 2001, but not in the United States . The record company Maverick Records had doubts about Bellamy's voice. Since she did not consider this to be suitable for radio, she was skeptical about the success of the album. The band then separated from the company and the album was only released on September 20, 2005 in the USA.

Litigation with Nestlé

The food company Nestlé wanted to use the title Feeling Good , originally from the musical The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd , which premiered in 1965 , for an advertising campaign for coffee . Although Muse refused to use it, the group still accompanied its commercials with the song. The band then went to court and the company was fined £ 500,000  . The sum was donated partly to Oxfam and partly to charities in the vicinity of Devon.
