Eyðun Elttør

Eyðun Elttør (born March 23, 1941 in Klaksvík , Faroe Islands ) is a former Faroese machine master and former politician of Sjálvstýrisflokkurin , who was a minister in the state government of the Faroe Islands and chairman of his party.

Eyðun Elttør was Minister for Oil and Environment from May 1998 to February 2004 in the state government of Anfinn Kallsberg I (1998–2002) and in the state government of Anfinn Kallsberg II (2002–2004).

When Sámal Petur í Grund was elected the new party chairman of the Sjálvstýrisflokkurin on November 10, 2001, Eyðun Elttør received the post of deputy. A good two weeks later, on November 27th, Sámal Petur í Grund passed the party chairmanship to his deputy. Eyðun Elttør remained chairman of the Sjálvstýrisflokkurin until 2003. He was succeeded by Kári P. Højgaard .

Eyðun Elttør also tried three times (2002, 2004 and 2008 ) to come to the Faroese Parliament (Løgting) as a member of the Sjálvstýrisflokkurin , but was not elected.
