The Eyebrook Reservoir is a reservoir in the East Midlands in England . It lies on the border of Leicestershire and Rutland , 2 km south of Uppingham and 6 km north of Corby and is traversed by the Eye Brook . The lake was created by Stewards & Loyds between 1937 and 1940 to supply water to their steel mill in Corby. In May 1943 it served as a training area for Operation Chastise . It is a protected area under the Wildlife and Countryside Act of 1981 and a trout fishing area .
