Fábio Pinto (born October 9, 1980 in Itajaí ) is a former Brazilian soccer player .

Career

In the club

Fábio Pinto played in the youth team of SC Internacional until 1998 . In December 1998 Pinto moved to Spain for Real Oviedo . There the striker made 31 games in two years and scored one goal. In the winter of 2000 he returned to SC Internacional. In the summer of 2002 he moved to Europe a second time and signed with the reigning Turkish champions Galatasaray Istanbul .

At Galatasaray, Pinto did not get beyond the role of supplementary player and his contract was terminated on October 23, 2003. After his time in Istanbul , Fábio Pinto played for several Brazilian clubs. The striker ended his career with Paxtakor Tashkent .

In the national team

Fábio Pinto took part in the 1997 U-17 World Cup in Egypt with the Brazilian U-17 national soccer team. Pinto became world champion there and scored four times in the competition.
