Fábio Rochemback (born December 10, 1981 in Soledade , Rio Grande do Sul ) is a Brazilian football player .

Career

Rocky, as he is called by his teammates, began his professional career in the youth team of Internacional de Porto Alegre in Brazil. From 1998 to 2001 Rochemback was repeatedly brought into the first team. He played 16 competitive games and scored three goals. 2001 Rochemback moved to Europe . His first European club was FC Barcelona . After two years in the Primera Division, he went west to Sporting Lisbon in the first Portuguese division. With Sporting Lisbon he reached the final of the UEFA Cup in 2005 . There they were defeated by CSKA Moscow 1: 3. He then played for three seasons at Middlesbrough FC . Rochemback reached the final of the UEFA Cup for the second time in a year with the club in the first year . However, the English club lost 4-0 to Sevilla FC . In 2008 Rochemback returned to Portugal and signed again with Sporting Lisbon. His second engagement with Sporting was not crowned with success. The last sixteen of the Champions League was bitter, when they lost with two bitter defeats to the top German club Bayern Munich . In 2009 Rochemback left Europe and returned to South America to be active again in his native Brazil. There he signed with Gremio Porto Alegre . In early 2012 he moved to Asia and signed with the Chinese club Dalian Aerbin .

Rochemback has played seven times for the Brazilian national soccer team .
