The Rosso ferry is a ferry service across the Senegal River between the cities of Rosso (Mauritania) and Rosso (Senegal) . The Senegal River marks the border between the states of Senegal in the south and Mauritania in the north. The ferry connects the ends of two national roads , the N 2 (Senegal) and the N2 (Mauritania) with a 500 meter long crossing over the river and creates a continuous transport connection between your two capitals Dakar and Nouakchott during the course of the Cairo-Dakar -Highways .

The car ferry transports people, cars, trucks and wagons . There are numerous accounts of tourists on foot or with their own vehicle being asked for bribes when issuing an exit stamp from Mauritania.
