Fårup Sommerland is an amusement park founded by Anders Kragelund in 1975 near Fårup in Nordjylland . It is one of the largest amusement parks in Denmark with five roller coasters : Lynet , Falken , Hurricane , Flagermusen and Mine Expressen . Around 400 seasonal workers and 20 to 49 permanent employees work for the company, which achieved sales of just under 105 million kroner in 2010 . In the same year, the park recorded a record number of visitors with over 607,000 guests.
In 1989 the Aquapark was inaugurated on the site , which is now Denmark's largest water park .
For 2020 the amusement park has announced a new family roller coaster called "Saven". It is a Family Boomerang Coaster from the Dutch manufacturer Vekoma.
Awards
In 2010, Fårup Sommerland was named the “third best amusement park for children” (Best Children's Park 2010) in the world by the American magazine Amusement Today - behind the American amusement parks Idlewild and Soak Zone and Legoland California .
For its roller coasters Falken (2004) and Lynet (2008), the park was awarded the FKF-Award for novelty by the Freundeskreis Kirmes und Freizeitparks e. V. excellent.
