The Suspended Family Coaster ( SFC for short ) is a roller coaster model from the Dutch manufacturer Vekoma . The train runs under the rails, is specially designed for families (in contrast to the Suspended Looping Coaster from the same manufacturer) and runs an average of 400 meters long circuit. There are 4 versions of this model line. The SFC has a lift hill with friction wheel drive and eddy current brakes . Since there is no block system, the lifts each have only one train for 8-10 (294 m) or 16-20 people (342 m or 400 m). According to the manufacturer, people from 100 or 110 cm in height are allowed to ride the railways.
history
The Suspended Family Coaster debuted in 2001 with the opening of the Rugrats Runaway Reptar on Kings Island in Ohio, USA, and Silver Streak in sister park Canada's Wonderland .
The original designs included trains with a safety system consisting of shoulder straps. These restraint systems are locked into place with a belt-type connector attached to the seat base.
In March 2007, Vekoma debuted a new version of the Suspended Family Coaster, the 294-meter model. The first installation was Jimmy Neutron's Atomic Flyer in Movie Park Germany. The ride differs from the earlier Suspended Family Coasters in that it has a portable undercarriage instead of the foundations and a new pull style with fully upholstered seats that are equipped with holding ropes for the horizontal bar, the TÜV in Germany even has the Jimmy Neutron Atomic Flyer system in Movie Park Germany approved for people from 95 cm.
One month later, in April 2007, the 395 meter model was presented in Gröna Lund in Sweden with Kvasten. The ride features the same redesigned trains as Jimmy Neutron's Atomic Flyer. The ride also features a larger layout with a height of 20 meters and a length of 395 meters.
