Félix-Marie-Honoré Verdet

Félix-Marie-Honoré Verdet (born August 3, 1904 in Cannes , † July 22, 1992 in Bandol ) was a French Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of La Rochelle .

Life

He received on 6 January 1933, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on June 10, 1952 titular bishop of Gurza and appointed him auxiliary bishop in Nice . He received his episcopal consecration on July 12, 1952, the bishop of Nice, Archbishop Paul-Jules-Narcisse Rémond ; Co - consecrators were Pierre-Maurice-Marie Rivière , Bishop of Monaco , and Auguste Joseph Gaudel , Bishop of Fréjus .

On July 1, 1963, Félix-Marie Verdet was appointed Bishop of La Rochelle. He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council . During his tenure as Bishop of La Rochelle, he implemented the decisions of the council in his diocese . He created the bodies corresponding to the constitutions of the council, in particular a council of priests .

On August 17, 1979, Pope John Paul II granted his age-related resignation.
