The Archdiocese of Monaco ( French Archidiocèse de Monaco , Latin Archidioecesis Monoecensis ) was created in 1981 and includes the entire Principality of Monaco . It is directly subordinate to the Holy See ( immediate ).
history
The Archdiocese of Monaco goes back to the Private Abbey of St. Nicholas and Benedict, which was spun off from the Diocese of Nice in 1868 . On March 15, 1887, the abbey was elevated to a diocese and on July 30, 1981 to an archdiocese.
