Edmond Abelé

Edmond-Marie-Henri Abelé (born March 4, 1925 in Châlons-sur-Marne , Département Marne ; † September 27, 2017 ) was a French clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Digne .

Life

Edmond Abelé was ordained a priest on October 21, 1951 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Monaco on June 27, 1972 . The episcopal ordination donated him the bishop of Fréjus-Toulon , Gilles Barthe , on October 15 of the same year; Co - consecrators were René-Joseph Piérard , Bishop of Châlons , and Angelo Raimondo Verardo OP , Bishop of Ventimiglia .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Digne on December 1, 1980, and on June 2, 1987, he accepted his resignation due to health reasons.
