René-Joseph Piérard
René-Joseph Piérard (born March 6, 1899 in Châlons-sur-Marne , † September 21, 1994 ) was a French clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Châlons in France .
Life
René-Joseph Piérard received the deacon ordination on December 23, 1922 and the priestly ordination on March 31, 1923 for the diocese of Châlons .
On December 29, 1945 he was by Pius XII. Appointed Titular Bishop of Iuliopolis and Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of Châlons. The episcopal ordination donated him the Bishop of Saint-Dié , Louis-Augustin Marmottin , on March 19, 1946; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Verdun , Marie-Georges Petit , and the Bishop of Troyes , Julien Le Couëdic .
With the death of Joseph-Marie Tissier on January 9, 1948, he succeeded him as Bishop of Châlons. He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father. His resignation was on September 17, 1973 by Paul VI. granted.
