Dominique-Marie Jean Michel David (born September 21, 1963 in Beaupréau , France ) is a French clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Monaco .

Life

Dominique-Marie David studied after visiting the Lyceum English Studies at the Catholic University of the West in Angers and worked after graduation with the licentiate as an English teacher. As a member of the Emmanuel Community , he attended the interdisciplinary seminary in Louvain-la-Neuve and studied theology at the Université catholique de Louvain . On June 29, 1991 he received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Nantes through Bishop Émile Marcus PSS .

In addition to various tasks in the pastoral care of the diocese of Nantes, he was responsible for the liturgical services in the Emmanuel Community from 1995 to 2001 and for the Maison Saint-Martin in Paris, which trains the community's seminarians from 1997 to 2001 . From 2009 to 2015 he was responsible for the consecrated members and seminarians of the community. From 2016 to 2019 he was Rector ecclesiae of the Santissima Trinità dei Monti church at the Spanish Steps in Rome. Since 2019 he has been a member of the teaching staff of the Saint Jean diocesan seminary in Nantes.

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Monaco on January 21, 2020 . His predecessor Bernard Barsi donated him episcopal ordination on March 8 of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Bordeaux , Jean-Paul James , and the Bishop of Le Mans , Yves Le Saux .
