Félix Courtinard

Félix Courtinard (born July 12,  1961 in Saint-Joseph (Martinique) ) is a retired French basketball player .

career

Courtinard grew up on the French Caribbean island of Martinique , played soccer as a teenager and started playing basketball at the age of 17. In 1983 he moved to Oloron Sainte-Marie in the south-west of France and played there in the fourth highest division. The 2.05 meter tall indoor player worked his way up to the top division. In the 1986/87 season he played in Voiron for the first time in the first division, for the 1987/88 season Courtinard moved within the league to Nantes BC. There he scored an average of 10 points and 6.3 rebounds per encounter. In the 1988/89 season he joined BCM Gravelines and made a further step in development when he increased his values ​​to 15.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. He stayed in Gravelines until 1990.

In the 1990/91 season Courtinard was under contract with Cholet Basket , where he scored 15.3 points per use. In Cholet he formed a strong team with the American John Devereaux .

In 1991/92 Courtinard played for ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne , from 1992 to 1994 for the capital club Racing PSG and 1994/95 for SIG Strasbourg .

After retiring from his career, he moved to Guadeloupe . He became president of the Phoenix Petit Bourg Association.

National team

As a second division player, Courtinard made his debut in France's senior team in November 1985. He took part in the European Championships in 1991 and 1993. He came to a total of 50 internationals.
