Earl Frederick "Fred" Borchelt (born June 12, 1954 in Staten Island , New York City ) is a former American rower .

biography

Fred Borchelt won the silver medal with the US four-man with helmsman at the 1981 World Championships and the bronze medal in 1982 . He was also able to win bronze at the 1979 World Championships in a two-man team with a helmsman .

Borchelt took part in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and 1984 in Los Angeles . In Montreal he finished 11th in a four with helmsman . In 1984 he won the silver medal in the regatta with the eighth .

Borchelt studied at Rutgers University and is now a physics teacher at Saint John's High School in Massachusetts , where he also trained the rowing team.
