The management academy of the Deutsche Bundespost (long form: academy for management executives of the Deutsche Bundespost ) was a training facility founded in 1969 by the Federal Ministry for the Post and Telecommunications , which was last located in Bad Honnef .

The academy was founded in September 1969 to enable the employees of the upper and higher service of the Bundespost to be trained in cooperation with business, science and the administration. It had an advisory board with representatives from the ministry and the trade unions and was headed by a president. On March 2, 1970, the Academy in Bonn was officially opened by the then Post Minister Georg Leber . In 1980 work began on a new building for the academy in a rural area on the edge of the Selhof district of Bad Honnef (Limbicher Weg 55), which could be occupied in autumn 1982 after the topping-out ceremony in May 1981. It took costs of 23 million DM and has (e) 100 guest rooms and 15 conference and seminar rooms. The Scientific Institute for Communication Services (WIK), which was founded in the same year and also belongs to the Federal Post Office, was initially located there, which shortly thereafter moved within the urban area and is publicly sponsored here to this day. The academy held around 220 events for 5,000 participants each year (as of 1985).

In the course of the second postal reform in 1995, the facility was converted into an academy for executives of the private Deutsche Telekom AG - another existed in Berlin - and, from 2002, became one of several Deutsche Telekom conference hotels with 8,000–12,000 overnight stays per year. In 2007 she sold the property to an Israeli investor and from then on rented it back; since 2009, like the other Telekom conference hotels, it has been operated by a subsidiary as a Commundo conference hotel . Due to the company's focus on its core business, the Commundo Hotels are to be gradually closed; the hotel in Bad Honnef ceased operations at the end of June 2018 before the original lease expired. The new occupant of the property has been the advanced training academy of the financial administration of North Rhine-Westphalia (FortAFin), which was previously located in Bonn-Bad Godesberg , since October 1, 2018 .
