The Modern Pentathlon World Cup in 1969 , also called Pentathlon World Cup was the ninth tournament in this discipline of Karambolagebillards and found from 19 to 27 April 1969 Berlin instead. It was the third pentathlon world championship in Germany.
history
After Johann Scherz from Austria and Cayo Munoz from Spain were canceled at short notice due to illness , the Belgian Ludo Dielis was nominated again. The Dutch runner-up Joop Roodenburg played for the Dutch pentathlon champion Hans Vultink , who was unable to take part for professional reasons. This did not have any negative consequences for the tournament. Of all things, the successor Ludo Dielis sensationally secured the title in front of the big favorite and defending champion Raymond Ceulemans , who was able to achieve all of the best performances in the tournament. For the 26-year-old local hero Dieter Müller it was enough for a good third place. For the first time he underlined his great ability as an all-rounder.
mode
The whole tournament was played in round robin mode.
- PP = game points
- MP = match points
- VGD = relative general average
- BEVD = Best Individual Relative Average
From 1965 the 'Portuguese table' was used to calculate the VGD. The various disciplines are calculated using a formula. The Portuguese table of 1965 was used. The world championships in pentathlon from 1965 onwards were also known under the name 'Neo Pentathlon'.
Free game : distance 500 points
Cadre 47/2 : distance 400 points
Binding : distance 200 points
Cadre 71/2 : distance 300 points
3 cushion : distance 60 points
The pentathlon was also played in this sequence.
In the final table, the match points achieved before the game points and the VGD were evaluated for the first time.
