The Modern Pentathlon World Cup in 1974 , also called Pentathlon World Cup was the eleventh tournament in this discipline of Karambolagebillards and found from 16 to 24 March 1974 Nice place. It was the fourth pentathlon world championship in France.
history
The world championship in Nice was marked by a wave of colds. Raymond Ceulemans , Francis Connesson and Dieter Müller were affected. With Ludo Dielis it was so bad that the doctors advised him to stop the tournament. The games that have already been completed have been removed from the rating. The Belgian Raymond Ceulemans became the pentathlon world champion for the third time. The two Frenchmen Roland Dufetelle and Francis Connesson, who came in second and third in the end, used their home advantage. Due to the circumstances, Dieter Müller never found his normal form in this tournament.
mode
The whole tournament was played in round robin mode.
- PP = game points
- MP = match points
- VGD = relative general average
- BEVD = Best Individual Relative Average
From 1965 the 'Portuguese table' was used to calculate the VGD. The various disciplines are calculated using a formula. The revised Portuguese table from 1972 was used. The world championships in pentathlon from 1965 onwards were also known under the name 'Neo Pentathlon'. Extended series were also rated in Nice.
Free game : distance 500 points
Cadre 47/2 : distance 400 points
Binding : distance 200 points
Cadre 71/2 : distance 300 points
3 cushion : distance 60 points
The pentathlon was also played in this sequence. Each match was played over two days.
In the final table, the game points scored were scored before the match points and the VGD.
