The Fırtına Deresi is a river to the Black Sea in the northern Turkish province of Rize .

The Fırtına Deresi arises near the settlement Yaylaköy on the northern slope of the Eastern Pontic Mountains west of the Kaçkar Dağı at the confluence of several mountain streams. The river initially flows a short distance west, but then turns north and maintains its course up to its mouth. It passes the place Çamlıhemşin and finally flows into the Black Sea on the western outskirts of Ardeşen . The river has a length of 68 km. At the Fırtına Deresi and its tributaries there are still more than 20 well-preserved stone bridges from the Ottoman era . The Fırtına Deresi is a well-known white water river , on which rafting and kayaking tours are offered over a distance of 23 km . The level of difficulty is between III and V.

The Fırtına Deresi water system is considered the most important spawning area for Black Sea trout in Turkey.
