Appearance

The FAB 1 of the television series is a pink or pink colored six-wheeled car with a double front axle, a glass hood and a voluminous bonnet with a Roll-Royce radiator grille . The driver's seat is centered; Lady Penelope is sitting on the bench on the right rear. The bulletproof glass roof can be partially retracted. The vehicle was designed by Brains, the engineer from International Rescue . Similar to hydrofoils, it has devices for trips on water or snow.

For the television series models are available in several sizes for different camera setting sizes made. The largest model was 2.1 m long and cost 2500 in 1964. An original Rolls-Royce grille was used for close-ups.

The FAB 1 of the feature film from 2004 is designed much slimmer and more aerodynamic and, because it is airworthy, has extendable wings; the glass dome is darkened.

Roadworthy replica models were made of both types. The 1966 model of the first FAB 1 has been in the Dezer Car Museum in Miami , Florida since 2013 . The replica Ford is currently on display at the Heritage Motor Center in Warwickshire .
