The FC 80 Herborn was a sports club from Herborn in the Lahn-Dill district . The first soccer team played for four years in the then fourth-class Oberliga Hessen .

The association was founded in May 1980. With financial support from Friedhelm Loh, the boss of the switchgear cabinet manufacturer Rittal, and the asset advisor Gerd Miethe, the club experienced a rapid sporting boom and rose several times. In 1988 he was promoted to the Landesliga Hessen-Mitte . Four years later, the Herborn runners-up behind VfL Marburg . In 1994 the FCH was runner-up again under coach Peter Cestonaro , this time behind VfR 19 Limburg . With the reintroduction of the regional league , the Herborner were allowed to move up to the Oberliga Hessen.

There the team achieved in the promotion season 1994/95 with rank ten, the best placement in the club's history. Dirk Vollmar was the top scorer in the league with 25 goals in the 1995/96 season . In 1997, the FCH reached the final of the Hessen Cup , which was lost 1: 2 against SC Neukirchen . In 1998, the Herborn from the Oberliga and were passed through to the district Oberliga a year later. On March 2, 2002 the association was dissolved.
