Since the 2014/15 season, the club has played in the highest Slovak league, the Fortuna league .

The club was founded in 1920 as RTJ Podbrezová . The association joined Inter Campus in 2002 . Argentine midfielder Pablo Podio plays for Podbrezová as part of this project. In the 2014/15 season, the club was first in the 2nd soccer league and thus rose to the Fortuna league for the first time .
