Fabian Montabell (born February 13, 1985 in Hanover ) is a German soccer player who also has a French passport. He comes from the youth of Hannover 96 .

Career

The striker came in 1999 from TuS Wettbergen in the youth department of Hannover 96. With the A-youth he was in the U-19-Bundesliga 2003/04 champions of the northern season, Montabell scored 16 goals this season, in the final round of the German championship the team failed but to Bayern Munich. Even in the reserve of the 96, the attacker in the Oberliga Nord was a reliable goal scorer. On May 22, 2004 Fabian Montabell came to his first game in the Bundesliga under coach Ewald Lienen . So far he has made a total of six Bundesliga appearances, four as a midfielder and two as a striker.

For the 2008/09 season Montabell moved to third division club FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt , where he was under contract until 2010. From the 2010/11 season, Montabell played for Fortuna Cologne . He signed a contract until June 2012, which was extended for another year to 2013 through promotion to the Regionalliga West . In his first season for Fortuna Cologne, he was the top scorer in the NRW League with 23 goals . In the 2012/13 season he just missed the promotion relegation to the 3rd division as second in the table with Fortuna Köln.

In the 2013/14 season, Montabell played for Sportfreunde Lotte . After a year and the missed promotion, Montabell left Lotte again and signed a contract with TuS Koblenz for the 2014/15 season . Due to persistent injury problems, Montabell did not play a single regional league game wearing the TuS jersey. After successful rehab, however, he extended his contract in Koblenz by one year until 2016 - despite being relegated to the top division. On the first day of the 2015/16 season , Montabell completed his first minutes in the TuS Koblenz jersey at an away game at the SpVgg EGC Wirges . After the season ended, Montabell did not receive a new contract in Koblenz.

In the 2016/17 season, Montabell played for FC Hennef 05 in the Middle Rhine League . For the 2017/18 season he moved to league rivals SV Bergisch Gladbach . Due to professional changes, Montabell was unable to play in Bergisch Gladbach for more than half the season.

In addition to his main job, he has been playing in the second team of FC Hürth in the district league Season 1 of the Mittelrhein Football Association since 2018 .
