Damiano and Fabio D'Innocenzo
Damiano D'Innocenzo and Fabio D'Innocenzo (born July 14, 1988 in Rome ) are Italian film directors and authors . In their homeland, the twin brothers are also known as Fratelli D'Innocenzo (Eng .: "Brothers D'Innocenzo").
Life
The identical twin brothers were born in the village of Tor Bella Monaca and grew up with their father in a suburb of Rome, between Lavinio, Neptune and Anzio. Already in their childhood both were engaged in photography, writing poetry and painting. Without formal training, Damiano and Fabiano D'Innocenzo produced video clips, television and cinema films, and a play.
After working together as scriptwriters on short and feature - length films, including Matteo Garrone's multi-award-winning film Dogman (2018), they presented their first own feature film in 2018, La terra dell'abbastanza . The story about two befriended schoolchildren from a suburb of Rome who fell under the spell of the mafia and drawn into a maelstrom of violence, drugs and prostitution was premiered at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival in the Panorama section . In Italy, the genre film was nominated in four categories for the David di Donatello film award and brought the brothers Nastro d'Argento as the best young directors. The success of her directorial debut led to her participation in a renowned workshop at the Sundance Institute under director Paul Thomas Anderson .
In 2019 the brothers published their first collection of poems, Mia madre è un'arma . A year later, Damiano and Fabio D'Innocenzo were invited to the Berlinale 2020 competition for the Golden Bear for their second feature film Favolacce , where they later won the script award . In the same year they published the photo book Night Pharmacy . At present (spring 2020) they are preparing their third feature film with Travel Well, Kamikaze . The focus is on a young man in his twenties planning a terrorist attack on the city of Los Angeles .
