Fabio Gasperini

Fabio Gasperini (born October 17, 1961 in Rome ) is an Italian auditor . He has been Secretary of the Property Administration of the Apostolic See of the Roman Curia since 2020 .

Life

Fabio Gasperini studied economics at La Sapienza University in Rome and did his PhD. He worked for a number of years in the administration of the Vatican City. For more than 25 years, he worked in the consulting and auditing services industry at financial institutions, banks, insurance companies, asset management companies, brokerage companies and financial companies as a business manager and auditor, initially with Arthur Andersen (1986-2002) and from 2003 in a managerial position at the auditing company Ernst & Young , as CEO from 2018. In particular, he is responsible for the Banking and Capital Markets division of the Financial Services Organization for the Europe, Middle East, India and Africa region as well as Head of Advisory in Italy. Among other things, he is a board member of the Italian Association of Italian Accountants (Associazione Italiana Internal Auditors AIIA).

Pope Francis appointed him Secretary of the Administration of Goods of the Apostolic See on June 15, 2020. He is the first layperson to serve as APSA secretary.
