The Aarau Factory Palace is a house for innovative puppet theater . It was founded in 1999 and is located on the premises of the KiFF in a former feed factory in Telliquartier Aarau .

The factory palace has around 65 seats (up to 100 for school performances) with a rising grandstand. The house runs international guest performances, but with the “Theater-Pack” as a house ensemble, it also produces its own pieces. The founder and director is the puppeteer and former secondary school teacher Hansueli Trüb, sponsor of the factory palace association. The Aarau Factory Palace is subsidized by the Canton of Aargau and the City of Aarau. The program shows stages from home and abroad; the offer is aimed at families, schools and adults.

Up until the 2013/14 season, the theater had around 1,500 visitors a year, and since then around 2,500 visitors. A three-week festival was held in October 2014 for the fifteenth year anniversary. In the anniversary year, the canton cut financial support for the theater by 20 percent, and the city at least compensated for the rent increase. In 2018 the cantonal contribution was increased again slightly.

The sponsoring association has had its own office since the beginning of 2015, which is supported by an annual budget of around CHF 100,000 . Around a third of the annual budget comes from public funds.

The house ensemble “Theater-Pack” also performs nationally. In 2016, for example , there were Bauma , Hedingen , kultSichtig in Grüningen ZH , the Pfalzkeller am Karlstor and the Theater 111 in St. Gallen , the Hof Lebherz in Warmsen , the Puppet Theater College in Bochum , the youth culture center pump in Berlin and the support of the clinic clowns in Weimar on the game board.
