The Puppet Theater College has been a state-recognized training facility in Bochum since 1977 . The association for the promotion of the Puppet Theater College in Bochum has been the sponsor since 1991. Previously it was carried by the German Institute for Puppetry , which was closed in 1991 .

The puppet theater college is housed in a former school in Bochum's Langendreer district , Hohe Eiche 27. The two-storey brick building was built in 1903 as an eight-grade elementary school and has been a listed building since January 30, 1998. In addition to the course rooms, the puppet theater college has a workshop and a studio stage.

Courses

The Puppet Theater College offers courses as part of the advanced training for puppet theater . This is divided into a basic level and an advanced level. In the basic level, a 14-week orientation course must be completed, which teaches the basics of the performing and visual arts. The courses of the advanced level can only be taken after completing the basic level or by arrangement. In addition, freely accessible courses are offered.
