Jochem Ahmann

Jochem Ahmann , actually Johannes Jochem Ahmann, (born September 23, 1957 in Herten ) is a German artist and designer who works in the fields of installation , painting , drawing , photography and performance .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1978 at the Petrinum high school in Recklinghausen , Ahmann studied at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences with Pitt Moog and Hartmut Böhm and graduated in 1985 with a degree in designer.

In 1984 Jochem Ahmann was a co-founder of the committee for optical-acoustic interaction . In the committee, visual artists and free jazzers like u. a. Dietrich Rauschtenberger , Martin Blume or Peter Brötzmann interactive performances.

In 1985 Ahmann founded the producer gallery 365 in Berlin together with Stefan Micheel , HS Winkler, Georg Glückman and Suwan Laimanee.

From 1991 to 1999 he was a member of the group for design - gfg around Rolf Glasmeier , Gelsenkirchen . In 1991 he founded the Fegefeuer-Press in Gelsenkirchen together with the writer Jürgen Schimanek and designed various book art objects.

Since around 1995 Ahmann has been working as a designer in the field of trade fair / shop fitting / TV productions / gastronomy.

Ahmann has been responsible for the artistic design of exhibition stands at Euroshop '96, Düsseldorf, Cebit'97, Hanover, Beauty'97, Düsseldorf, IFA'97, Berlin, VENUS'97, Berlin and Cebit'98 , Hanover responsible.

Grants, prizes and grants

From 1987 to 1997, Ahmann was chairman of the Vestische Künstlerbund based in the Kunsthalle Recklinghausen. At his suggestion, the city of Recklinghausen made the vacant coach house available to the Vestische Künstlerbund and the Kunstverein Recklinghausen for joint use. In 1989 Ferdinand Ullrich , director of the Städt. Museums Recklinghausen and Jochem Ahmann dissolved the historical Kunstverein Recklinghausen, which was in agony, and in autumn 1989 brought the current Kunstverein Recklinghausen into being together with Martin Bartel and Sigurd Evers.

In 1997 Ahmann was appointed to the German Werkbund , in 2000 he was accepted into the West German Artists 'Union and in 2009 he was accepted into the German Artists' Association . Since 2014 Ahmann has been a member of the Association of Düsseldorf Artists from 1844 and of the Association for the Organization of Art Exhibitions

Jochem Ahmann has been a board member of the West German Artists Association since 2002 and was an honorary member of the board of the Deutscher WerkbundNW from 2007 to 2014.

Since 1987 Ahmann has worked as a lecturer at various institutes (including FFFZ: Film Funk TV Center of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland, Düsseldorf, Westphalian Theater School Recklinghausen, Puppet Theater College in Bochum). Since 2009 he has been a lecturer in experimental design and free painting at the summer academy of the Free Academy of Fine Arts Essen, fadbk. In 2010, Ahmann held a teaching position as a substitute for a professorship at the Bochum University / Faculty of Architecture in the field of design principles . Since 2012 he has been a lecturer at the summer academy on Rothaarsteig, Siegen. From the 2015/2016 winter semester to 2019, Ahmann held a teaching position for painting at the Ruhrakademie , Schwerte.

Jochem Ahmann has lived in Bochum since 1988 .
