Situational wasteland museum
Situatives Brachland Museum is the title of an art campaign that took place in Bochum in 2011 and with which the initiators, the artists Matthias Schamp and Steffen Schlichter, opened a museum of an unusual kind.
For the first exhibition of the “Museum” with the title “Throwing Works of Art / Informal Taking into possession of the Situational Brachland Museum”, 49 artists created works of art that were moved over the fence onto a 4.5 hectare fallow site owned by the City of Bochum without permission were thrown. Since the Situational Brachland Museum is a vagabond museum, the exhibition space is not limited to this one area. Works of art were twice removed from the museum by unknown persons.
